For people looking for work

Tell Grandson how you want to work—not just what skill you have.

Some people want independent jobs they can choose and quote. Others simply want hourly work Grandson assigns. Those are different relationships, and the platform is designed to keep them different.

Two examples of different work paths

“I just want hourly work.”

Grandson reviews whether direct employment is available and, if so, assigns work through the employee path. That person does not self-claim contractor marketplace work just because they clicked a preference.

“I run my own work and want more jobs.”

That belongs in the independent contractor or service-business path, with its own eligibility, quoting and payment rules.

What happens after you apply

Grandson matches access to readiness—not just a résumé.

Say what kind of work you actually want

If you want flexible network opportunities, say that. If you want direct hourly Grandson work, say that. Grandson keeps those work paths separate instead of treating every applicant as the same kind of contractor.

Readiness controls access

Screening, background checks, training, documents, credentials, service permissions and Service Area access determine which opportunities you can actually work.

Work is matched to real territory

Eligible opportunities are tied to current Service Areas rather than showing you jobs the platform does not currently authorize you to perform.

Assignments stay organized

When Grandson assigns work, the schedule, instructions, arrival, evidence and closeout live in the same job lifecycle used across the platform.

Compensation follows the work path

Direct hourly/W-2 work stays on the employee-payroll rail. Independent provider work stays on the provider-payment rail. One job should not accidentally create two kinds of pay.

Build a record of completed work

Where the job requires it, check-in/out, location attempts, photos, signatures, closeout and quality review create a usable record of what happened.

No fake promise of a job

Applying tells Grandson what you can do and how you want to work. Approval and actual assignments come after that.

Availability depends on the market, service demand, current Service Areas, screening, role requirements and Grandson’s actual need for direct employees. The application should never turn a preference into a made-up employment relationship.
